Azerbaijani-Lithuanian business forum held in Baku
Baku, April 10 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijani-Lithuanian business forum by the organizational support of Azerbaijan’s Economic Development Ministry and AzPromo was held here.
Minister of Economic Development Shahin Mustafayev said that Azerbaijan attaches great importance to cooperation with EU countries, including Lithuania. “Over 100 businessmen engaged in different spheres of economy attended the forum to contribute to enhancement of relations and development of cooperation between the two countries”, he underlined.
Lithuanian Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevicius appreciated the accomplishments in Azerbaijan’s economy. He said that in 2012, trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Lithuania grew by 34% to $49 mln. The volume of goods exported from Lithuania rose 52% to $45 mln. There are necessary perspective and opportunities to increase this figure. Butkevicius stressed that Lithuania has big practice in different fields as food industry, ICT and sewing industry and it is interested in cooperation with Azerbaijan in these spheres: “Cooperation with Lithuania can open new markets for Azerbaijan in Europe with a population of 500 mln”.
Along with officials, entrepreneurs engaged in education, construction, finance, ICT, renewable energy, environmental protection, water treatment, car transportation, logistics, sales of automotive parts and etc. spheres are taking part6 in the forum.
It is planned to hold presentations on business and investment opportunities of both countries, as well as bilateral meetings between the businessmen.
Head of AZPROMO Rufet Mammadov, representative of Lithuania’s Foreign Ministry Regimantas Yablonskas made relevant presentations.
