AZERBAIJANI PRESIDENT NAMED REGIONAL LEADER BY WORLD PUBLIC OPINION

Baku, 30 June (AZERTAC). Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev has been named the regional leader, a survey conducted by the World Public Opinion in Turkey suggested.

The study found that 47% of Turks questioned have chosen the Azerbaijani President the regional leader together with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

According to the survey, the Palestinian leader Mahmud Abbas received support from 28% of the respondents, Syria`s Bashar Asad 22%, Egypt`s Hosni Mubarak 14% and Jordanian King Abdullah 12%.

Among the world leaders, the majority of Turks questioned, 45%, showed confidence in US President Barack Obama, putting Iran`s leader Mahmoud Ahmadinejad second with 33% and Russia`s Vladimir Putin third with 15%.
