Azerbaijani President receives credentials of incoming Zimbabwean ambassador
Baku, November 9 (AZERTAC). President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has received the credentials of incoming ambassador of Zimbabwe Bonifes Guva Britto Chidyausiku.
During the meeting, the ambassador conveyed Zimbabwean leader Robert Mugabe`s greetings to the Azerbaijani President.
He said Zimbabwe was interested in developing relations with Azerbaijan in the fields of politics, economy, energy and investment, as well as in implementing joint projects. The Zimbabwean diplomat said the two countries were cooperating within a number of international organizations, including the United Nations and Non-Aligned Movement.
Mr. Britto Chidyausiku stressed the importance of Azerbaijan`s joining the UN Security Council.
President Ilham Aliyev thanked the government of Zimbabwe for supporting Azerbaijan`s UN Security Council membership bid.
The Azerbaijani leader said the two countries maintained active cooperation within international organizations.
The Head of State said there were good opportunities for developing the bilateral relations in different fields, particularly economic one.
President Ilham Aliyev asked the ambassador to pass on his greetings to the Zimbabwean leader.
