Azerbaijani singer opens year of Giuseppe Verdi in Italy
Baku, December 8 (AZERTAC). Famous Azerbaijani opera singer Yousif Eyvazov has performed in a concert at the Auditorium di Milano marking an opening of the year of Giuseppe Verdi in Italy.
2013 marks the 200th anniversary of the greatest Italian composer Giuseppe Verdi, whose operas are the basis of the repertoire of opera theaters worldwide.
“The concert is held for three days - on December 6, 7 and 9 - on the stage of the Auditorium di Milano to the accompaniment of the Giuseppe Verdi symphonic orchestra conducted by Jader Bignamini. And I feel honored to be the first Azerbaijani artist to perform on this stage. The concert program also includes the famous U.S. opera singers Nathalie Bergeron and Stephanie Gamba,” Eyvazov said.
Yousif Eyvazov has recently won the first place at the 6th International Bulbul Vocal Competition in Baku. The singer lives and works in Milan for 15 years. He was born on May 2, 1977, in Baku. He studied at the Baku Conservatory, then at the Conservatory of Mantova (Italy). He attended master classes given by Franco Corelli, Luciano Pavarotti, Magda Olivero, Placido Domingo, Gianandrea Gavazzeni and Antonio Fogliani. Tenor, winner of the Grand Prix at several international competitions in Italy and he is awarded an honorary medal of Gianandrea Gavazzeni.
