Azerbaijani universal fighters win 10 medals in international tournament

Baku, May 9 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijani universal fighters garnered a clutch of 12 medals, including 4 golds at an international tournament marking the 90th anniversary of national leader Heydar Aliyev.

The tournament brought together nearly 400 fighters from Russia, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, Turkey, Georgia, Iran, Belarus, and Romania.

Prior to the opening ceremony, leadership of the Azerbaijan Universal Fighting Federation, Gusar youth and sports department, and Gusar Olympic Sports complex laid flowers at a monument to national leader, founder and architect of modern Azerbaijani state Heydar Aliyev.

Azerbaijan ranked first in the medal table, followed by Russia and Georgia.
