Azerbaijani weightlifters given triumphant welcome

Baku, May 13 (AZERTAC). Hundreds of fans, including sport officials and family members have packed the Heydar Aliyev international airport to give a triumphant welcome to Azerbaijani weightlifters who claimed a clutch of three medals, including a gold, silver and bronze, in the youth world championship in Peru. 

Gold medalist of the tournament Valentin Khristov (62kg) lifted 178kg to break the 177kg record of Chinese Jang Fan set up in 2007.

Nijat Rahimov won silver, while Firudin Guliyev claimed bronze.
