AZERBAIJANI WRESTLERS CLAIM 7 MEDALS AT EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP

The 18-strong Azerbaijan national team attended the European Wrestling Championship in Finnish city of Tampere.

The athletes grabbed 2 gold, 1 silver and 4 bronze medals and 2 licenses to Beijing Olympiad.

Rovshan Bayramov (55kg) snatched gold, Emin Azizov (66kg) bronze medals and both the licenses for Beijing. Thus number of the Olympic qualified reached seven.

Another athletes Mariay Stadnik (48kg) won gold, Elvira Mursalova (59kg kg) silver, Chamsulvara Chamsulvarayev ( 74kg), Novruz Temrezov ( 84kg) and Ali Isayev ( 120kg) bronze medals.

In the team event, Azerbaijani male and female wrestlers ranked 3rd in Freestyle Wrestling, and 13th in Greco-Roman.
