Azerbaijan’s IT minister meets Speaker of the Illinois House of Representatives
Baku, November 20 (AZERTAC). Minister of communication and information technology of Azerbaijan Ali Abbasov met with the visiting Speaker of the Illinois House of Representatives Michael J. Madigan.
Abbasov updated the American guest on the works done in the field of information technology in the country. He noted that the international participants of the 7th Internet Management Forum organized in Baku have underlined high level of IT technologies in the republic. 65 percent of the country’s population are Internet users, while 30 percent of population have broadband Internet access, he stressed.
The broadband Internet access will be developed to cover all the regions, the Minister said, noting special state attention to this sphere.
Expressing pleasure with the success the country reached in the modern technologies’ development, Speaker of the Illinois House of Representatives Michael J. Madigan informed about analogous works carried out in the State of Illinois.
The two sides also discussed prospects of cooperation among the financial funds of Azerbaijan and the State of Illinois.
