AZERBAIJAN`S PRIME MINISTER MEETS UZBEK DEPUTY PREMIER
Azerbaijan`s Prime Minister Artur Rasizade met Monday with visiting Uzbekistan`s Deputy Premier Nodirkhon Khanov.
Mr. Rasizade said reforms carried out in Azerbaijan ensured macro-economic stability and rapid GDP growth in the country.
The Premier stressed the Azerbaijani government places special emphasis on developing non-oil sector, agriculture, ICT, transport and education.
He expressed confidence that Uzbek President Islam Karimov` s forthcoming visit to Baku would give an impetus to enhancing cooperation between the two countries.
Azeri premier also spoke of the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh and its grave consequences. He expressed gratitude to Uzbekistan for backing the resolution on "the situation in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan” adopted by the UN General Assembly.
Nodirkhon Khanov, in turn, said his country was curious about close cooperation with Azerbaijan in agriculture, transport, automotive industry and other spheres.
The sides also discussed other issues of mutual interest.
