AZERI AMBASSADOR DELIVERS LECTURE AT JORDAN`S AL AL-BAYT UNIVERSITY
Baku, 11 April (AZERTAC). Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Jordan Elman Arasli delivered a lecture on life and history of the Azerbaijani people at the famous Al al-Bayt University of Jordan, the Embassy of Azerbaijan to this country said.
As stated, the King of Jordan pays special attention and renders all-round assistance to this higher educational institution, located in Mafrag, 60 km to capital city Amman, alumni of which is mostly ideological personnel and makes huge contribution to socio-political life of Jordan. The University with 11 thousand students is an internationally authorized institution training staff for all Arab countries.
Ambassador Arasli`s lecture mainly dwelled on the complex of questions - Azerbaijan`s historical links with the Arab and Islamic world, its cultural and moral values, centuries-old customs and traditions, accomplishments the country achieved in the independence years, its economic potential and latest reforms. The lecturer noted the historical role of the nationwide leader of Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev in gaining national sovereignty and establishment of modern statehood.
Arasli highlighted the University`s personnel on the steps taken for peaceful solution of the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno Karabakh conflict.
An exhibition of the photos from the lifetime and activity of Heydar Aliyev, samples of national art, ethnography, dress, carpet and musical instruments of Azerbaijan admired the visitors.
