AZERI CULTURE AND TOURISM MINISTER MEETS IRAQI MINISTER OF TOURISM AND ANTIQUITIES
Baku, April 16 (AZERTAC). Culture Minister of Azerbaijan Abulfas Garayev met Wednesday with Iraqi Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Qahtan Abbas al-Juburi and his accompanying delegation.
Garayev said political, economic and cultural relations between Azerbaijan and Iraq have a long history.
According to the Minister, “such meetings will contribute to strengthening bilateral ties even more.”
Garayev noted “special attention has been paid to developing tourism sector in Azerbaijan recently.” He also added, during the current year, Baku hosted several important international events on tourism.
Qahtan Abbas al-Juburi said his country is keen on cooperation with Azerbaijan in all areas including tourism one. He underscored the importance of exchange of experience between the two countries` relevant specialists.
The Minister also noted that Azerbaijani companies should use Iraq`s tourism potential.
He pointed out that Iraq has signed a protocol of understanding on tourism with several countries of the world, stressing the importance of “signing such a document with Azerbaijan, as well.”
They also discussed other issues including protection of historical monuments and strengthening bilateral cooperation even more.
