AZERI FM MEETS EU TROIKA DELEGATION
Baku, 20 July (AZERTAC). Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Elmar Mammadyarov has met today with EU Troika delegation headed by Swedish Foreign Minister Carl Bildt.
Carl Bildt said relationship between Azerbaijan and the European Union was rapidly developing.
He noted EU was interested in establishing stability in the region, adding the Organization backs the ongoing talks within the OSCE Minsk Group framework to settle the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
For his part, Elmar Mammadyarov described the Eastern Partnership program as a new stage in Azerbaijan-EU relationship. He expressed hope the project would contribute to boosting bilateral relations even more.
Mammadyarov also briefed the delegation on his country`s stance towards settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
The talks also revolved around transportation of Caspian energy recourses into Europe, application of free trade regime, EU`s support for Azerbaijan`s possible WTO membership, simplification of visa regime and other issues of mutual interest.
