Baku Engineering University and Uzbekistan’s Namangan State Technical University discuss cooperation

The first online meeting was held between Baku Engineering University (BEU) and Namangan State Technical University (NamSTU), one of the reputable higher education institutions of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The meeting was attended by faculty members from both universities.
During the meeting, the sides held an extensive exchange of views on prospects for future cooperation. In particular, discussions focused on the implementation of joint scientific research, academic staff and student exchanges, including the organization of winter and summer school programs, participation in international projects, as well as the development of new partnership formats.
BEU Vice-Rector for International Relations Atraba Gul emphasized that establishing and developing ties with leading technical higher education institutions of Uzbekistan is of particular importance for BEU. She noted that the friendly and brotherly relations between the two countries, along with the strong potential of both universities, create ample opportunities for further strengthening cooperation.
It was also noted that NamSTU holds a leading position in the region in the fields of technical education, engineering, and innovation, and plays an important role in organizing scientific research activities. The university’s scientific potential and experience in cooperation with industry were highly appreciated.
The meeting also featured presentations on the role of universities in the development of regional industrial sectors, as well as their future strategic goals. The parties reached a preliminary agreement to expand cooperation in several areas, jointly submit a project to the Uzbekistan–Azerbaijan joint projects competition, and sign a memorandum of understanding between the universities in the near future.
