‘BAKU FESTIVAL GIVES IMPETUS TO PROMOTING MUGHAM’
Baku, March 24 (AZERTAC). The international mugham festival in Baku gives impetus to promoting this genre of music, said Vice-President of the International Council for Traditional Music Wim van Zanten.
Van Zanten, who was a jury member at the festival which ended earlier on Tuesday, said one of the major peculiarities of the contest was its bringing together mugham singers from different countries of the world.
He also thanked President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, UNESCO and ISESCO Goodwill Ambassador Mehriban Aliyeva for “the well-organized festival which is a new intercultural dialogue.”
