Baku hosts Azerbaijan-Austria tourism conference
Baku, October 19 (AZERTAC). Baku on Oct. 19 hosted Azerbaijan-Austria “Friendship conference” dedicated to the tourism opportunities. The conference organized by Azerbaijan Export & Investment Promotion Foundation (AZPROMO) and Austria-Azerbaijan Chamber of Commerce (ATAZ) was attended by the businessmen operating in tourism, logistics, construction and architecture, as well as government officials of both sides.
The aim of the conference is to represent tourism opportunities of both countries and to discuss future projects and development of relations between the businessmen in this field.
Chairman of the Honorary Council of ATAZ Peter Schieder spoke about the expansion opportunities of the relations in all fields, as well as in tourism: “Both Azerbaijan and Austria have great potential for tourism opportunities and the profitable use of it will contribute to the development of the ties our countries”. Schieder underlined the importance of experience exchange and the hospitality of the Azerbaijani people.
The deputy minister of culture and tourism Nazim Samadov highlighted that 2011 was declared “Tourism year” by the President Ilham Aliyev and Azeri government attaches great importance of the development of the country’s tourism opportunities.
In turn, Austrian ambassador in Azerbaijan Sylvia Mayer-Keibich spoke about the Austria-Azerbaijan cooperation, as well as relations in tourism sphere.
The sessions within the conference discussed the implemented projects, tourism opportunities, Austria’s experience in tourism field and other matters of common interest.
