Baku, August 8 (AZERTAC). Head of Sabail District Executive Power Asif Asgarov has met here today with visiting Mayor of Bucharest`s Sector 2 Neculai Ontanu.

Asgarov said Romania was the second country after Turkey to recognize the independence of Azerbaijan.

He noted national leader Heydar Aliyev paid special attention to developing friendly relationship between Azerbaijan and Romania.

Asgarov also briefed Ontanu on the ongoing social and economic reforms in the country under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev.

For his part, Neculai Ontanu praised the current level of bilateral relationship.

He said national leader Heydar Aliyev-founded policy has successfully been continued by President Ilham Aliyev. The Mayor noted reciprocal visits by the two countries` officials contribute to boosting bilateral ties.

Ontanu also stressed that he witnessed “incredible development” in Baku since his last trip in 2006.
