Chinese delegation visits Azerbaijan`s Penitentiary Service
Baku, April 30 (AZERTAC). Chinese delegation led by deputy justice minister Zhang Sujun met with chief of the Penitentiary Service of Azerbaijan, Deputy Justice Minister Madat Guliyev.
Mr. Guliyev provided information on achievements gained in the Penitentiary Service, as well as progress achieved in execution of punishment and related problems.
He highlighted what had been done in the country to improve the detainment conditions and build international standard detention facilities.
Madat Guliyev emphasized that representatives of international organizations, including the European Council, OSCE, and the International Committee of the Red Cross were periodically visiting prisons and pre-trial detention facilities to monitor the detention conditions.
Zhang Sujun provided information on the aims of their visit, highlighting the conditions for prisoners in China.
The delegation also visited detention facility No. 6 and Baku detention facility.
