Chinese language courses open at New Azerbaijan Party

On April 14, the Central Office of the New Azerbaijan Party (YAP) hosted the opening ceremony of Chinese language courses for party members, jointly initiated by the YAP and the Chinese Embassy in Azerbaijan.
Prior to the event, a meeting took place between Tahir Budagov, YAP Deputy Chairman and Head of the Central Office, and Lu Mei, the Chinese Ambassador to Azerbaijan. During the meeting, Ambassador Lu Mei expressed her gratitude to Azerbaijan and President Ilham Aliyev for facilitating the evacuation of Chinese citizens from Iran, describing it as an indicator of the friendship between the two countries. The discussions covered the cooperation between YAP and the Communist Party of China (CPC), as well as issues arising from the Memorandum of Understanding inked between the two parties.
Subsequently, the officials viewed an ancient Chinese tea ceremony and calligraphy art.
Addressing the opening ceremony, Tahir Budagov noted that the Chinese language courses were established in accordance with the relations of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.
Highlighting the growing interest in the Chinese language in Azerbaijan, Ambassador Lu Mei emphasized that Chinese universities and think tanks continue conducting research on Azerbaijan. She underscored that YAP members learning the Chinese language will contribute to fostering bilateral relations in all areas.
Subsequently, an artistic program followed, featuring performances by the students of the Confucius Institute in Baku.
Following the event, the first Chinese language class for YAP members was held.
