Cooperation between Interior ministries of Azerbaijan and Pakistan discussed
Baku, January 30 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijan`s minister of internal affairs Ramil Usubov has met today Pakistani ambassador Inayatullah Kakar.
Usubov said relations between Azerbaijan and Pakistan had deep roots. “Pakistan is one of the first countries to recognize Azerbaijan`s independence, and has always supported the country within international and regional organizations.” The minister praised the fact that the Senate of Pakistan recognized Armenia as an aggressor and Khojaly tragedy as genocide against Azerbaijanis.
Usubov also stressed the necessity of expansion of relations between the two countries` ministries of internal affairs. The minister recalled his participation in a regional conference on strategies to fight against drugs held in Islamabad last year, as well as his meetings with Pakistani top officials, including interior minister Rehman Malik.
Usubov also underscored the necessity of using Pakistan`s experience to fight against international terrorism and drugs turnover. The Minister also briefed the Pakistani diplomat on the work done in Azerbaijan to protect stability, peace and public order in the country.
Ambassador Inayatullah Kakar, in turn, praised the level of political relations between the two countries. The diplomat said he would spare no efforts to contribute to development of bilateral relationship in all spheres, including cooperation between the two countries` law enforcement bodies.
