CZECH PRIME MINISTER VISITS HISTORICAL MUSEUM IN BAKU
Baku, February 13 (AZERTAC). As part of his trip to Azerbaijan, Prime Minister of the Czech Republic Mirek Topolanek visited the National Academy of Sciences` Historical Museum.
The Premier was informed about the museum. The building constructed in 1895-1897 was a property of Azerbaijani millionaire Haji Zeynalabdin Tagiyev. The building became a museum in 1920. The museum has the collection of items reflecting all periods of Azerbaijan`s history. Under President Ilham Aliyev`s decree, the building was restored to its original appearance.
The museum has over 300 thousand items. Photographs and historical documents reflect the life and activity of famous persons who obtained education with Tagiyev`s support.
Mirek Topolanek saw the exhibits of Haji Zeynalabdin Tagiyev memorial museum on the second floor of the museum.
The Premier signed the museum`s guestbook.
