Delhi hosts 46th Annual Meeting of ADB Board of Governors
Delhi, May 4 (AZERTAC). Delhi, India has today hosted an official opening ceremony of the 46th Annual Meeting of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Board of Governors.
Delivering speeches at the event, Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and ADB President Takehiko Nakao spoke about the economic development of the Asia and Pacific region, settlement of the social problems, as well as the importance of expansion cooperation with ADB and member countries.
The annual meeting features sessions, seminars and presentations on actual problems of the Asia region.
The event brings together ministers of member countries, heads of central banks, government officials, businessmen, representatives of the international financial institutions and economic experts.
A delegation led by Finance Minister Samir Sharifov represents Azerbaijani in the meeting.
The Asian Development Bank aims for an Asia and Pacific free from poverty. Approximately 1.7 billion people in the region are poor and unable to access essential goods, services, assets and opportunities to which every human is entitled.
