Dispensary opened in Azerbaijan`s Hajigabul region
Baku, February 1 (AZERTAC). A dispensary construction of which financed by the Japanese Government was opened in Azerbaijan`s Hajigabul region.
The grant contract has been signed by Japanese Ambassador Mr. Shusuke Watanabe and Kamala Agazade, the Chairwoman of the NGO “Azerbaijan Children Union”.
The project aims to construct a new medical point in Abdullabad village to improve the level of medical service for residents of Abdullabad and 2 surrounding villages. The number of beneficiaries is about 7000 people. The total amount of the Japanese Grant Assistance for the said project is USD 115,131.
The total number of projects contracted in Azerbaijan including this time is 157, and the amount averages USD 12,161,460.
So far, including this project 2 projects had been contracted in Hajigabul region.
Grassroots and Human Security Grant Assistance Programme” support projects applied by municipalities, medical institutions, and NGOs, aiming directly at the improvement of living standards of Azerbaijani people. Such projects might be implemented in the field of poverty reduction, social protection, infrastructure, public health and increase of incomes.
The total amount of Japan’s Official Development Assistance provided for the Republic of Azerbaijan is over $1 billion, covering a wide range of areas such as improvement of economic infrastructure, agricultural and social sectors, cultural field as well as human capacity development.
