‘EU KEEPS EYE ON ONGOING TALKS TO RESOLVE NAGORNO-KARABAKH CONFLICT’
‘Baku, August 13 (AZERTAC). The European Union keeps an eye on the ongoing talks to resolve the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, said visiting Secretary General of the European Movement International Diogo Pinto.
He noted EU member states regard that the dispute must be settled on the basis of Azerbaijan`s territorial integrity, and welcome the “intensified talks”.
According to him, the progress in settlement of the conflict is necessary for both Europe and Azerbaijan. He added EU spares no effort to ensure stability in the region.
Pinto said he would conduct discussions on the Eastern Partnership Program signed between EU and Azerbaijan, become familiar with public and political situation in the country and put forward proposals concerning Azerbaijan`s integration into Europe.
He also underlined Europe attaches special importance to Azerbaijan in the region.
