GERMAN EXPERTS VISIT AZERBAIJAN TOURISM INSTITUTE
Baku, April 17 (AZERTAC). The German Federal Government Commissioner for Tourism Ernst Hinsken and representative of the Germany`s Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology Margrit Steffel met here with President of the Azerbaijan Tourism Institute Jafar Jafarov.
Jafarov briefed German guests on the Institute`s three-year activity, adding it is the only higher educational institution to develop domestic tourism and train qualified specialists.
The President told of the Institute`s international cooperation including that with German universities. He stressed that under the EU`s Erasmus-Mundus international education cooperation program, University implements student and teacher exchange programs with 16 higher educational institutions in Bulgaria, Latvia, Portugal, Netherlands, Greece, France and Italy.
Hinsken praised the activity of the Institute. According to him, tourism sector is the integral part of the economy. People trend to travel in the globalizing world.
He expressed willingness to assist to develop tourism sector in Azerbaijan.
The presentation on tourism as driving force of our century`s economy highlighted the role of tourism in development of economy and Germany`s tourism potential.
