ICT Ministry`s “Dilmanc” project presents series of innovations at Bakutel-2012
Baku, November 6 (AZERTAC). The Ministry of Communication and Information Technologies of Azerbaijan regularly presents its products at BakuTel.
The ministry`s “Dilmanc” project which is a portable mini-computer for blind and visually impaired peoples, equipped with a system of voice-activated control, has presented series of innovations at “Bakutel 2012” exhibition.
At the exhibition, the project presented Dilmanc Automatic Speech Recognition System which is first such system for Azerbaijani language and enables to enter the text via dictating to microphone. Input speed is 3-4 times faster than typing in a keyboard. Another feature of system is enabling voice-control of computer and other devices. It recognizes more than 150,000 word-forms, with accuracy of 85%. The system will be released at the end of 2012.
Another innovation includes: Text-to-Speech system which reads input text with a human voice and Phone-translator system that translates phone conversations real-time, between Azerbaijani and other languages. The system works as following: User's speech recognized and converted to text via Automatic Speech Recognition System, then translated to other language by Machine Translation System, and then converted to voice by Text-to-Speech system and sent to another user. The system will be released at 2014.
Dilmanc Online Dictionary provides translation from several languages into/from Azerbaijani language. Distinct feature of Dictionary is that system automatically finds root of word, thus enabling user enter any word-form. This is specially important feature for users who are not familiar with foreign language, as this is hard for them to find root of given word-form. Another interesting feature is providing the usage examples in sentences of given word and their translation. These sentences were crawled from web automatically.
