INTERNET SITE “BAKU – THE CAPITAL OF ISLAMIC CULTURE 2009” PRESENTED
Baku, 19 February, (AZERTAC). Today in the Museum Center of Baku, the web site www.baku-icc-2009.az was presented on the occasion of opening of the Year of culture “Baku - the capital of Islamic culture 2009”. The minister of culture and tourism Abulfas Garayev noted that this site will give additional support for reception of the detailed information on the country and its capital Baku, carrying out at the international level of propagation of Azerbaijan, the junction of world cultures.
The Minister underlined that users of the site will not face language problem as this portal will function in five languages - Azerbaijan, English, Russian, French and Arabian. Now the Azerbaijan, English and Russian sections completely function, he stressed.
Mr. Garayev told that 19 sections of the site cover 194 topics. The site includes sections "News", “Online voting”, “the Guest Book», “About Azerbaijan”, “Absheron Peninsula”, "Baku", "Culture", "Tourism" and others. Through this portal each foreigner can receive the detailed information on Azerbaijan, closely familiarize himself with Azerbaijani men of theatre, cinema and music.
Noting that in the modern world one of information resources, the people widely uses, are the web sites, Director General of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri highly appreciated a site. The portal will promote recognition and propagation of Islamic culture. The site functioning in various languages will open to representatives of other religions the original essence of Islam, and give detailed information on originality of the Islamic culture, history and music.
General Director of ISESCO underlined that in October of current year, Baku is to host the VI conference of the ministers of culture of OIC member states.
On presentation, the attendees listened to musical fragments of national music, watched films, panoramas of Baku, the ancient Icherisheher and Caspian Sea.
