Kazakh opera “Alpamys” sees Azerbaijan premiere
Baku, May 7 (AZERTAC). “Alpamys” opera by prominent Kazakh composer, professor Yerkegali Rakhmadiyev has been staged in Azerbaijan State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre.
The opera was staged as part of a special project of TURKSOY to promote the best opera composers of the Turkish speaking nations.
Duisen Kaseinov, the Secretary General of TURKSOY, who arrived in Baku to watch the premiere, met Azerbaijan’s minister of culture and tourism Abulfaz Garayev.
They discussed prospects for cooperation between the two countries.
The Azerbaijani minister underlined the importance of mutual relations among the Turkish speaking countries.
Noting the importance of staging of Azerbaijan’s opera “Koroglu” in Turkish speaking countries, Garayev said Italians also expressed desire to stage the opera by world-renowned Azeri composer Uzeyir Hajibeyli.
The Secretary General of TURKSOY expressed hope that similar cooperation will bring closer the modern cultures of the Turkish speaking fraternal countries.
