Netherlands interested in economic cooperation with Azerbaijan
Baku, June 12 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijani Minister of Foreign Affairs Elmar Mammadyarov, who is on a visit in the Netherlands, met on Monday with the country`s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economic Affairs, Agriculture and Innovation Maxime Verhagen.
Elmar Mammadyarov said that Azerbaijan has become active participant of the regional projects and the leader country of the region for its dynamic development.
Azeri FM underlined the importance of expanding of cooperation in energy, non-oil sector, alternative and renewal energy, extraordinary situations, especially preventing of flood and natural disasters.
“Azerbaijan attaches great importance to collaboration in agriculture, introduction of innovative technologies, and improvement of transport infrastructure. I invite Dutch firms to cooperate in the area of innovations,” Mammadyarov added.
He also invited Verhagen to pay an official visit to Azerbaijan and offered to hold Azerbaijan- Netherlands business forum within the visit.
Verhagen said his country is interested in the development of economic relations with Azerbaijan and urged for further extension of cooperation.
Mr. Mammadyarov expressed his hope that this trip and the business forum within Mr. Verhagen`s visit to Azerbaijan will contribute the economic cooperation between both countries.
The sides also highlighted the fruitful work of the embassies of the two countries, contributing to the development of ties between the two countries.
