Baku, March 26 (AZERTAC). The number of hotels in Azerbaijan increased in recent years from 94 in 2002 to 337 in 2009, said Azerbaijan Minister of Culture and Tourism Abulfaz Garayev, speaking of Azerbaijan`s tourism potential at the Baku 49th meeting of the UNWTO commission for Europe. The number of tourists travelling to Azerbaijan dramatically surged as well last year.

Minister stressed the activity of the Tourism Institute for training specialists in this sector.

Garalov underscored the importance of cooperation with other countries to achieve progress in tourism sector.
