OSCE OFFICE IN BAKU PRESENTS PRESS VESTS TO AZERBAIJANI JOURNALISTS
Two hundred vests that will clearly identify journalists during public events and demonstrations were presented to members of the Azerbaijan`s media representatives by the OSCE Office in Baku. The vests were sponsored by the Office of the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media. Next week, the Azerbaijan Press Council will distribute the vests to more than 70 media representatives.
Head of the OSCE Office in Baku Jose Luis Herrero said "it is an evidence of close cooperation between Azerbaijan and the OSCE.” He stressed providing a safe working environment for journalists during public events was very important. He also expressed his confidence the vests would contribute to the safety of journalists.
Attending the event Azerbaijan`s Deputy Interior Minister Oruc Zalov said the OSCE always contributes to enhancing relations between police and mass media.
Chairman of the Azerbaijan Press Council Aflatun Amashov said the OSCE implements various projects to boost journalists` professionalism.
