PABSEC MEETING STARTS IN BAKU
The 31st meeting of the PABSEC Economic, Commercial, Technological and Environmental Affairs Committee started Tuesday in Baku.
Opening the meeting, vice president of PABSEC, member of the Milli Majlis (Azerbaijan Parliament) Standing Committee on Science Asaf Hajiyev said the Assembly`s committees play important role in developing economic cooperation in the region, which is the main goal of the Organization of Black Sea Economic Cooperation.
Ecological situation in the Black Sea region tops the agenda of the two-day meeting.
Vice chairman of the Milli Majlis Valeh Alasgarov said socio-political and regional stability is very important in achieving economic development.
Members of the Milli Majlis Mubariz Gurbanly, Imamverdi Ismayilov, head of the Milli Majlis Apparatus Safa Mirzayev, Azerbaijan`s ambassador to China Yashar Aliyev and others were awarded with honorary diplomas of PABSEC for their effective activity within the committee.
The next meeting of the committee will be held in Belgrade, Serbia in 2009.
