Premiere of Asli and Karam opera held

Baku, January 24 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijan State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre staged a premiere of opera Asli and Karam by great Azeri composer Uzeyir Hajibayli.

The opera was first staged on 18 May 1912 at the Opera and Ballet Theatre. Producer of the new formation is Honoured Art Figure Hafiz Guliyev, music lead and conductor - Honoured Art Figure Sevil Hajiyeva, producing artist - Honoured Art Figure Yusif Babayev, dance producer - People's Artist Madina Aliyeva.

The main characters were played by Arzu Aliyeva (Asli) and Elnur Zeynalov (Karam). The play also involved People's Artist Shahlar Guliyev (the priest), honoured artists Sabir Aliyev (Shab), Nizami Bagirov (Pasha), and soloists Nazar Baylarov (Sofi), Mutallim Damirov (Sheikh) and others.
