PRESIDENT ILHAM ALIYEV INAUGURATES OVERPASS AND TUNNEL IN BAKU
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today attended the inauguration of the first phase of the road junction near the Excelsior hotel. The junction has been built in line with the presidential order approving the action plan for 2006-2007 for improvement of the transport system in Baku.
The Head of State got familiar with the design of the junction, which includes four overpasses and two tunnels.
Transport Minister Ziya Mammadov briefed the President that the road junction is being built by Akkord Group of Companies. He added the railway running through that area will be renewed.
Azerbaijani leader cut the ribbon symbolizing opening of the overpass. President Ilham Aliyev was curious about the quality of work and gave instructions concerning high-level construction of the remaining part of the road junction.
