PRESIDENT OF AZERBAIJAN MEETS CZECH PRIME MINISTER MIREK TOPOLANEK
Baku, 26 January (AZERTAC). President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan today met with the Czech Prime Minister Mirek Topolanek in Budapest.
The Prime Minister expressed readiness to promote expansion of close cooperation between Azerbaijan and the European Union and contribute to integration of Azerbaijan to the European structures during the presidency of his country at EU. He expressed confidence for further development of cooperation with Azerbaijan in various fields. Touching upon the significance of the Nabucco project, Mirek Topolanek estimated Azerbaijan as very important country which plays notable role in energy safety of Europe.
President Ilham Aliyev expressed hope that THE Czech Republic during its presidency at the EU, will serve expansion of the cooperation between Azerbaijan and his country, as well as EU. “Azerbaijan closely partakes in the New Neighborhood Policy of the European Union,” President Aliyev said. “Azerbaijan makes its contribution to the energy safety of European Union and the country`s gas is exported to European countries.” President of Azerbaijan stressed importance of the Nabucco project. He expressed confidence for further expansion of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and the Czech Republic. President of Azerbaijan highlighted on the Armenian aggression against Azerbaijan, noting that this aggression threatens cooperation and security in region. At his words, the European Union will soon have to actively take part in settlement of the conflict.
