PRESIDENT OF AZERBAIJAN RECEIVES SYRIAN FOREIGN MINISTER
Baku, 3 June (AZERTAC). President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today received Foreign Minister of Syria Walid al Muallem and his accompanying delegation.
The Head of State described the Syrian delegation`s current visit to Baku and meetings held here “as an indicator of good relations”.
According to the President, opening of Azerbaijan`s embassy in Syria is “one of the important factors in development of our ties”.
The Azerbaijani leader expressed assurance that the current visit would contribute to expanding relationships between the two countries.
Walid al Muallem extended Syrian President Bashar al-Assad `s greetings and best wishes to President Ilham Aliyev.
The Minister noted he witnessed significant development in Baku since his first trip took place in 2006 and congratulated President Ilham Aliyev for this.
President Ilham Aliyev asked Walid al Muallem to convey his greetings to Syrian leader.
