PRESIDENT OF HEYDAR ALIYEV FOUNDATION MEHRIBAN ALIYEVA INAUGURATES SOME OBJECTS IN BAKU
Baku, January 22 (AZERTAC). President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, UNESCO and ISESCO goodwill ambassador, MP Mehriban Aliyeva has inaugurated a number of objects in the Sabunchu, Nizami and Narimanov districts of Baku, which have been built and repaired under the Orphanage and Boarding School Development Program.
President of the Foundation first cut the red ribbon symbolizing official opening of the children`s sanatorium in the settlement of Mashtaga. She laid flowers at the bust to national leader Heydar Aliyev in the foyer.
Reconstruction of the sanatorium, which started here in 2007 at the initiative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, has been completed. The 255-bed health center specializes in gastroenterology and pulmonology. Children aged 1.5-7 may undergo a two-month treatment here free of charge.
Mehriban Aliyeva also visited a newly repaired orphanage in the NIzami district. She laid flowers at the bust to national leader Heydar Aliyev in the foyer. The President got acquainted with the work done here. Mehriban Aliyeva handed over a key of Hyundai bus to director of the orphanage and had her picture taken together with the children.
Later, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyev attended the inauguration of the 50-apartment building for 100 people built at the initiative of the Foundation for orphanage-raised girls aged over 18. Mehriban Aliyeva got familiar with the conveniences in the turnkey apartments.
Later the same day, the President of the Foundation inaugurated the musical school No38 for the blind and visually impaired children in the Narimanov district.
The complete overhaul in the school began in August 2008 at the initiative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. The musical school consisted of 14 classrooms employs 50 teachers. The Foundation also provided the school with musical instruments and equipment.
Mehriban Aliyev noted the Heydar Aliyev Foundation puts a special emphasis on the projects designed for such children. It implements ICT Access for Blind and Visually Impaired Children Project. To this end, a special school was built in Ganja. The equipment is being currently delivered from all around the world to introduce Azerbaijani children to the state-of-the-art technologies.
