PRESIDENT SIGNS OBITUARY FOR LT-GEN RAIL RZAYEV
Baku, February 11 (AZERTAC). President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and a group of the country`s high-ranking state and military officials signed an obituary for Lieutenant General Rail Rzayev, Commander of the Azerbaijan Air Force and Air Defense Troops, Deputy Defense Minister, who tragically died today at the age of 64.
The obituary specifically says:
“Rail Rzayev was appointed Commander of the Azerbaijan Air Force and Air Defense Troops in 1992. A year later, the President of Azerbaijan signed an Executive Order appointing him as Deputy Defense Minister of the Republic. In 2002 Rail Rzayev was conferred the rank of Lieutenant-General.
Rail Rzayev proved to be a very competent and able officer, and experienced commander with high-standard professionalism and organizational skills. He made a great contribution to creation and development of the Air Force and Air Defense Troops of the Azerbaijan Republic.
Rail Rzayev was awarded a number of state awards, including the “Flag of Azerbaijan” Order in recognition of his special contribution to the defense of independence and territorial integrity of the country.”
