Dear guests!
I welcome you once again in Azerbaijan and wish you have a good time in our country. We have just discussed a wide range of issues of mutual interest concerning bilateral and regional development. All these issues are interrelated and, of course, I want to highlight the importance of your visit to our country. Estonian President`s first official visit to Azerbaijan is a good opportunity for considering development of bilateral relations. Political ties between our countries are very good and I am confident that this visit will strengthen our relationship even more. We have to increase our attention to the practical aspects of partnership.
Today, we have discussed prospects for economic ties and both countries` businessmen will have opportunities to discuss them more comprehensively. Of course, such issues as regional development, situation in the region, security and energy are interrelated. Relationship with the European Union, development of these relations is very important for us. We are grateful to Estonia for supporting our initiatives and activities to develop ties with the European Union.
Hopefully, it will continue like this. I am sure this visit will be successful in all aspects.
Welcome again.
Estonian President Toomas Hendrik Ilves said:
Thank you Mr. President!
I am glad to visit your country again. I say once again that about ten years ago I visited Azerbaijan as foreign minister of our country.
First of all, allow me to congratulate you for the positive changes that have taken place here over this period. I did not recognize the airport, Baku and anything but Maiden`s Tower. Everything has totally changed. We have gone through this stage as well. On the one hand, everything looks different and these feelings are familiar to us. I say once more I am glad to be here.
