PRESIDENTS OF AZERBAIJAN AND LATVIA MEET IN PRESENCE OF DELEGATIONS
Baku, August 10 (AZERTAC). Presidents Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan and Valdis Zatlers of Latvia have today continued their talks in the presence of the two countries` delegations.
“I am sure your visit will be successful and following your visit, successful development of ties between our countries will be continued. We are satisfied with the high-level political dialogue between our nations,” said President Ilham Aliyev.
Azerbaijani leader noted there are big expectations from the Latvia-Azerbaijan business forum in terms of development of economic ties between the two countries.
”We successfully cooperate with international organizations. We can feel your country`s support for our cooperation with NATO and European Union,” said President Aliyev
The Head of State stressed the need to expand cooperation between the two countries in a variety of fields. He expressed assurance that this visit will be “an important step in this direction”.
“It is my first visit to Azerbaijan. I hope this visit will be successful,” said President of Latvia Valdis Zatlers.
Latvian President noted he is in Azerbaijan with a large group of businessmen, adding business ties between the two countries have developed rapidly over a couple of years.
“Despite the economic crisis, contacts between Latvian and Azerbaijani businessmen were even more effective. I think we must define quite a few paths that can bring welfare to our peoples and benefit to our states,” added President Zatlers.
