RUSSIAN DEFENSE MINISTRY TO CLARIFY ITS POSITION ON ARMS TRANSFER TO ARMENIA
Moscow, January 13 (AZERTAC). Russian Ministry of Defense promised to provide official information about handing over 800 mln worth of arms to Armenia from one of the Russian military bases in Armenia, press-service of Defense Ministry told AZERTAC correspondent. Press-service said it is not in position to confirm or deny this fact as this question is being investigated.
Media reports suggested Russia handed over arms worth $800 mln to Armenia from the 102nd military base in Gumri. Russian ambassador Vasiliy Istratov was invited to the Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan where Deputy Foreign Minister Araz Azimov asked ambassador whether this issue is true. Istratov said Russia will clarify things concerning arms transfer.
