San Marino hosts presentation of Baku European Games 2015
Baku, May 18 (AZERTAC). The 34th seminar of the European Olympic Committee (EOC) and EOC Olympic Solidarity Forum was opened in San Marino on May 16.
According to the Azerbaijan National Olympic Committee (NOC), the event was attended by the representatives of the EOC member committees.
Azerbaijan was represented by Head of the International Relations department of the National Olympic Committee of Azerbaijan Konul Nurullayeva.
The three-day seminar and forum mainly focused on Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games, Rio 2016 Olympic Games, management standards, regulations and the various editions of the European Youth Olympic Festival, as well as preparations for the forthcoming first European Olympic Games, due to take place in Baku on June 2015.
Speaking at the event, Konul Nurullayeva provided an insight into Baku 2015 project and stressed a great potential of Azerbaijan for organizing the European Games.
“As far as two years remain for the European Games, currently we are fully trying to establish sports and non-sports facilities. We are very pleased with holding such a great games on several kinds of sports in our city,” she stressed.
Moreover, chairman of the EOC Coordination Commission Spyros Capralos presented a report on the Commission`s meeting held in Baku last month.
