Serbian President meets Azeri businessmen
Baku, February 9 (AZERTAC). Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic has met Azerbaijani business people as part of his visit to the country.
The meeting was attended by Azerbaijani officials and nearly 50 businessmen from the fields of agriculture, food industry, construction, tourism, information and communication technologies, finance, and logistics.
Organized by Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Foundation, the event was supported by Azerbaijan`s Ministry of Economic Development.
Speaking to the meeting, Azeri economic development minister Shahin Mustafayev praised the political relations between Azerbaijan and Serbia. He said there was great potential for expanding the bilateral economic ties.
Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic praised Azerbaijan`s economic development. He said Serbia attached particular emphasis to developing its relationship with Azerbaijan. President Nikolic stressed the importance of expanding the cooperation between the Serbian and Azeri businessmen.
He noted the agreement on economic and technological cooperation signed by the two countries paved the way for the overall deepening of the bilateral relations. The President said “as a first product of this agreement an infrastructure project has been launched in Serbia thanks to a credit from the Azerbaijani side”.
He noted there was favorable investment climate in Serbia, and invited the Azeri businessmen to invest in his country`s tourism, agriculture, energy and infrastructure sectors.
