SHEKI PROVINCE MARKS 200TH ANNIVERSARY OF CHOPIN’S BIRTH

Baku, May 25 (AZERTAC). A concert of the classical music devoted to the 200th anniversary of Chopin`s birth was held in Sheki province of Azerbaijan. The event brought together classical music-lovers, employees of the Polish embassy to Azerbaijan, representatives of the Azerbaijan Composers` Union.

The event participants spoke about the life and creative work of the distinguished Polish composer. The concert also featured famous compositions by the Frederic Chopin.

The employees of Polish embassy in Baku expressed their gratitude to the head of Sheki province for celebrating the Chopin`s birth.

The Polish Parliament unanimously passed a vote to announce the year 2010 - a year of Frederic Chopin. The music of Frederic Chopin is one of the most recognized Polish cultural properties and is performed around the world constantly.
