SOCAR President holds meeting with Lord Sheikh
London, November 22 (AZERTAC). Visiting President of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Rovnag Abdullayev has met in London with Lord Sheikh.
Sheikh thanked for the hospitality he enjoyed during his visit to Azerbaijan.
He said he prepared the six-page report for the chairman of the House of Lords, secretary of defense and other officials in which he reflected everything he saw in the country. During hearings in the parliament, the lord spoke of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, oil strategy of Azerbaijan. In his remarks, he underlined that relationships between the countries must develop more intensively in not only energy sector but also in other fields.
He was happy to remember the reception organized by the embassy of Azerbaijan which saw discussions on traditional pluralism, multiculturalism and religious tolerance in Azerbaijan.
SOCAR President Abdullayev thanked Sheikh for his efforts to make both countries close and his speech at the House of Lords. He agreed that new opportunities were opened up for cooperation and it is necessary to use them. He noted British investments would be welcomed in not only oil sector but also the non-energy one.
Abdullayev thanked Sheikh for his support in raising awareness of British MPs on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
