SOCAR, TWI discuss cooperation

Baku, May 1 (AZERTAC). Vice-president of HR, IT and Regulations of Azerbaijan`s State Oil Company (SOCAR) Khalik Mammadov has met director of the TWI Company - the Welding Institute at the Cambridge University of Great Britain Reza Razmjoo.

Mammadov provided an insight into the activities and human resources policy of SOCAR.

Reza Razmjoo highlighted the activities of the TWI Company, which has been operating under Cambridge University since 1946.

He said main activity of the company, which cooperates with leading oil firms, like BP, Chevron, Shell and Statoil, is providing trainings and conducting certification.

Razmjoo said TWI Company was keen on cooperation with SOCAR.

The meeting featured a presentation by TWI`s manager on Azerbaijan Karim Shakouri on the firm`s underwater training program.

TWI`s services include consultancy, technical advice, research and investigation for Industrial Member companies and public funding bodies.

Shakouri said the program yearly attracts more than 15,000 trainees from 16 countries.

The country manager also spoke of future plans of the company, which includes establishment of a Perfection Center for Central Asia.
