Student Organizations’ Union of Azerbaijan meets ambassador of Lithuania
Baku, November 2 (AZERTAC). Representatives of the Azerbaijan’s Student Organizations Union on Friday met with the newly-appointed ambassador of Lithuania to Azerbaijan Arturas Zhurauskas. The meeting took place at the Embassy of Lithuania to Azerbaijan.
The Azerbaijan Student Youth Organizations Union`s press secretary Majid Musayev briefed the participants on the history and activities of ASYOU, International School Leadership Camp project, which was implemented last year in August in Gabala.
Musayev said that this year ASYOU has become a full member of the European Students' Union, holds joint cultural and scientific events.
The ambassador Arturas Zhurauskas noted that in Lithuania every university has a Student Union and the Head of the Union is represented in Senate of the university. Zhurauskas said more than 10 higher education institutions operate in Lithuania along with the Association of University Presidents.
During the meeting the sides also discussed issues of cooperation between the student non-governmental organizations of Azerbaijan and Lithuania, the establishment of friendly relations between the young students of both countries, student exchange programs.
At the end of the meeting, representatives of ASYOU presented the ambassador various publications of the Union and a gift.
Earlier, representatives of ASYOU held similar meetings with the ambassadors of Russia, Kazakhstan, Serbia, Norway, Latvia, Italy, Pakistan and other countries.
