TURKEY, US DISCUSS ENERGY COOPERATION PROSPECTS
Baku, August 28 (AZERTAC). Turkish Energy and Natural Resources Minister Taner Yildiz and Robert Wexler, co-chairman of the Congressional Study Group on Turkey at the US House of Representatives, have discussed prospects for energy cooperation between the two countries.
Wexler, who is visiting Ankara, said US President Barack Obama attaches a particular emphasis on relations with Turkey.
Wexler said the USA and Turkey should increase trade volume, adding “energy is one of major areas we can achieve our goal”.
Yildiz said existing relations between the two countries could be enhanced through different activities on energy cooperation.
As part of his Ankara visit, Wexler also met Turkish President Abdullah Gul and Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
