AZERBAIJAN DEPUTY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT MINISTER ATTENDING 24th MEETING OF COMCEC
Azerbaijan`s Deputy Minister of Economic Development Sevinj Hasanova and her accompanying delegation are attending the 24th meeting of the Standing Committee for Economic and Trade Cooperation (COMCEC) of Organization of the Islamic Conference which started today in Istanbul, AZERTAC`s Ankara based correspondent said.
Opening the meeting, President of Turkey Abdulla Gul expressed importance of closer cooperation among Islamic countries “especially at the time when the world faces economic crisis.”
The Turkish leader`s idea was echoed by Secretary-General of the Organization of the Islamic Conference Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu and Turkish state minister Nazim Ekren.
President of the Islamic Development Bank Ahmad Muhammad Ali said an international Islamic bank will soon be created to assist development projects in Islamic countries.
Following the opening ceremony, participants of the meeting were received by Abdullah Gul who also honored them with a lunch.
