Azerbaijani Justice Ministry`s delegation attends IAACA`s meeting in New Delhi
Baku, April 10 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijan`s delegation led by justice minister Fikrat Mammadov has visited India.
As vice-president of the International Association of Anti-Corruption Authorities (IAACA) Mammadov participated in a meeting of the organization in New Delhi on April 8-10.
The event was opened by V. Narayanaswamy, India`s minister of state in Prime Minister Office.
President of IAACA, prosecutor general of China Cao Jianming addressed the event.
The meeting participants discussed a wide range of issues, including how to strengthen international cooperation in fighting corruption, and use effective mechanisms to coordinate the activity of anticorruption agencies. They also discussed IAACA`s strategic program drawn up with participation of Azerbaijani experts.
Justice minister of Azerbaijan, IAACA`s vice-president Fikrat Mammadov addressed the meeting as a key speaker on organizational issues.
The participants put forward concrete proposals and adopted relevant decisions.
On the sidelines of the event Fikrat Mammadov held meetings with Indian minister of state in Prime Minister Office V. Narayanaswamy, Central Vigilance Commissioner Pradeep Kumar, heads of prosecutor, justice and other law enforcement agencies.
During the meetings the Azerbaijani minister highlighted the anti-corruption reforms carried out in his country. They also discussed cooperation in this sphere.
Fikrat Mammadov also met IAACA`s President, prosecutor general of China Cao Jianming. They discussed expansion of legal cooperation between Azerbaijan and China.
Cao Jianming praised the fact that Azerbaijan attaches great importance to cooperation with international organizations in fighting against corruption. Jianming also praised Azerbaijan`s contributions to development of IAACA.
They also discussed Chinese prosecutor general` upcoming visit to Azerbaijan.
