Azerbaijani President offers Independence Day greetings to Ukrainian counterpart

Baku, August 23 (AZERTAC). President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has sent a letter of congratulation to President of Ukraine Victor Yanukovich as his country celebrates Independence Day.

In his message, the Azerbaijani leader said: “On behalf of the people of Azerbaijan and on behalf of myself, I offer my sincere congratulations to you and the whole people of Ukraine on your country`s state holiday - the Independence Day.”

“Friendly Ukraine is today resolutely moving forward on the path towards strengthening statehood and order, and carrying out socio-economic reforms. The country enjoys growing prestige within the international community.”

President Ilham Aliyev expressed confidence “that good traditions of friendship and mutual support, overall cooperation between Azerbaijan and Ukraine, our bilateral relations will further rapidly develop and strengthen for the good of our peoples and countries”.

The Azerbaijani leader wished his Ukrainian counterpart “strong health and successes”, and the people of Ukraine “peace and prosperity”.
